The Village of Moweaqua is seeking to hire a Part Time Water Clerk. The job description and application may be viewed below. Applications must be received by April 26, 2019.

JOB TITLE: Water Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Water Department
DIVISION: Water/Sewer
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Water Superintendent, Mayor and Village Trustees
DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School
graduate. This position requires an extensive background check.
NATURE OF WORK: Performs a wide variety of general accounting, clerical
duties which include, record-keeping, typing, computer input, filing and
assessment searches.
WORK PERFORMED/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Load hand held meter reader and download monthly water meter readings.
II. Review meter readings for accuracy and verify as necessary
III. Print and mail bills to customers
IV. Receives monthly payments from customers and updates accounts.
V. Counts departmental remittances, prepares receipts and bank deposits.
VI. Applies penalties to outstanding accounts and sends shut-off notices.
VII. Collects delinquent accounts and tapping fees.
VIII. Maintains information storage retrieval systems to facilitate ease of access
to data used in day to day activities.
IX. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
X. Records water shed usage and issues work orders.
EXTENT AND TYPE OF INTERACTION WITH PUBLIC:
I. Represents City government through direct contact with the public.
A. Answers citizen questions through daily telephone contact.
B. Responds to citizen inquiries regarding water/sewer billing in person and by
telephone.
C. Transaction and other counter duties.
D. Daily contact with the public.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
I. Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
II. Attendance may be required at various training classes.
III. Must be eligible to be bonded.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOL OPERATION:
I. Employee must be able to operate a variety of office equipment relative to
this position which shall include but may not be limited to: Communication
equipment, computers, typewriters, copiers, fax machines, and calculators.
WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS:
I. Hours may vary, but generally 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.- Monday through Friday.
All Village Personnel are on Twenty-four (24) Hour call to report to work.
II. This position works primarily in an office environment, with little exposure to
outdoor temperature variations or environmental factors.

REQUIREMENTS:
I. Employee must live with 10 miles of the Village of Moweaqua
II. Employee must pass physical & drug screening.

In compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act the following
represents the Physical and Environmental Demands: This position requires
an equal amount of time spent standing, walking, and sitting. Lifting,
pushing/pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds is
sometimes required, with a maximum of forty (40) pounds infrequently required.
Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending are
sometimes required. Repetitive movements of the hands are sometimes
required. Audio, visual, and verbal functions are essential functions to performing
this position. Most of the workday is spent indoors.
