Village of Moweaqua
You may have noticed some construction activity around our Village! We are currently making improvements to the Moweaqua water system. Improvements include installation of new watermain one block each direction from the intersection of S. Hanover St. & E. Wall St. and the replacement of service lines with meter pits along the same route. Other improvements include painting, sand blasting, and repairing the interior and exterior surfaces of the water tower and ground storage tank in the Village.
Funding for this project is provided by a low-interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The PWSLP is funded by both state and federal resources. The cost of the lead service lines is $186,027.75 while the water tower and ground storage tank improvements and watermain installation is $912,805.78 with an interest rate of 1.01% to be repaid over 20 years. For more information, please contact Mrs. Mischelle Davis at the Village Hall.
