The Year End Annual Meeting of the Moweaqua Village Council was called to order by Mayor Lowe leading in the Pledge to the Flag. Roll Call was answered by Jon King, Howard Wise, Mark Thomas, Steve Ruot, Jim Mahone and Louise Weakly. Employees present were Louis Jordan, Boomer Neece, Chief McLearin, Officer Maynard and Attorney for the Village, Mike Antoline, was also present.
After additions and corrections were made by the Clerk, Ruot made the motion to approve the Year End Bills to be Paid, Weakly seconded. Council voting Yes: King, Wise, Thomas, Ruot, Mahone and Weakly. No: None.
Mahone made the motion to table the budget until the next Regular Meeting, Ruot seconded. Council voting Yes: King, Wise, Thomas, Ruot, Mahone and Weakly. No: None.
Mayor Lowe thanked the Village employees for doing good work this past year and stated that she is looking forward to continued growth for the Village in the upcoming year. Mayor Lowe then presented her committee recommendations for 2006-2007. Weakly made the motion to accept the Mayors recommendation for committees, King seconded. Council voting Yes: King, Wise, Thomas, Ruot, Mahone and Weakly. No: None. A list of committees is on file with the Clerk.
Mark Thomas, Chairman of the Police Committee states that his committee recommends not reappointing Craig Reed for part time patrolman and appointing Scott Flannery for the position. Thomas made the motion to appoint Scott Flannery as part time patrol officer, Ruot seconded. Council voting Yes: King, Wise, Thomas, Ruot, Mahone and Weakly. No: None. Flannery will be sworn in at the next Regular Meeting.
