Village Trustee Vacancy

The Moweaqua Village Board has an opening for a Trustee seat that was recently vacated. The Mayor has chosen to proceed with an application process.
HOW DOES A MUNICIPALITY SELECT AN INDIVIDUAL TO FILL A VACANCY? Municipalities may adopt whatever internal process works best for their community to select an individual to appoint to a vacancy in elected office. Some municipalites announce a vacancy and provide for an application and interview process, while some municipalities may appoint an individual to fill the vacancy without any formal application process in advance. The Mayor is requesting that individuals submit an application by March 27th to be considered for the trustee position.
